A sight to behold above the skies of Israel, which is the migration path for a tremendous flock of starlings. The massive synchronized group flies in a waving pattern known as a 'murmuration'. Ornithologists say it helps the small birds to find food, and also acts as a defense mechanism. Before the 90's the common starling would fly to Israel by the millions. That number then drastically dipped, but has been picking up in the last few years.
